Desk report: A woman has filed a sexual assault case against British Prince Andrew. According to the lawsuit, the woman was sexually abused and beaten by Prince Andrew about two decades ago as a teenager. An Australian-American woman named Virginia Joffrey filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, the second son of British Queen Elizabeth, in Manhattan District Court on Monday, according to Reuters. Geoffrey alleges that Andrew’s friend, the late US billionaire and investor Jeffrey Epstein, trafficked him for “sex work” and tortured him on an island of his own. At the age of 18 Epstein took him to London with Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew later sexually abused Giselene Maxwell, the daughter of the late Robert Maxwell, a British media mogul, at her London home. Geoffrey alleged that she was kept as a ‘sex slave’ with the help of Giselene Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime colleague in London. Virginia Geoffrey, formerly known as Virginia Roberts, said in a statement, ‘I blame Prince Andrew for what he did to me. Being powerful and rich, no one can avoid responsibility for his misdeeds. I hope that those who have been victims of such incidents will see not only fear and silence, but also justice. ” Neither Prince Andrew nor his lawyer could be immediately reached for comment, Reuters reported.
