Desk report: Authorities in Saudi Arabia have approved Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccines for performing Umrah. In other words, the citizens of different countries who go to Saudi Arabia, they have to take these vaccines. As a result, Bangladeshis receiving Chinese synopharma vaccine are in a state of uncertainty about Umrah-Hajj. The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) has requested the government to address the issue. After a two-year hiatus due to the epidemic, this time Saudi Arabia allowed the performance of Umrah. But the country’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued strict restrictions on Muslims performing the Umrah Hajj. At the time, Saudi Arabia’s Haramain Sharifine, a platform called Digital Media, cited a number of restrictions imposed by the Saudi authorities on performing Umrah. The first of the prohibitions was that worshipers wishing to perform Umrah must first be vaccinated with a full dose of coronavirus. The ministry has asked for Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. These vaccines cannot be entered in Saudi Arabia without taking two doses. However, if a person is vaccinated with two doses of Chinese vaccine, he or she must receive an additional booster dose of Pfizer, Modern, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. However, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah may change and modify the ban at any time. As a result, Bangladeshis who have been vaccinated with Synoform have fallen into uncertainty about performing Umrah. In this regard, State Minister for Civil Aviation Mahbub Ali said that Saudi Arabia needs guidance on going for Umrah with the synoform vaccine. Zahirul Islam, Counselor (Hajj) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said a positive decision on the synoform vaccine could come soon from the Saudi government. Isa Yusuf Isa Alduhailan, the Saudi ambassador to Bangladesh, said the number of Umrah passengers was limited to 60,000 due to the epidemic, but would be increased later. Incidentally, Hajj and Umrah for foreigners have been banned in Saudi Arabia for two years after the global Corona epidemic broke out. Only the worshipers in the country are performing Hajj this year.
