Desk report: The Philippines has increased travel bans on nine countries, including Bangladesh. Which will remain in force till August 31. The Philippines announced on Friday (August 13th) that it had lifted the embargo. This information is known from the sources of Anadolu Agency. The countries are: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.The country has re-imposed the ban mainly to prevent the transmission of delta variants of the coronavirus.The country imposed sanctions on Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Oman and the United Arab Emirates to protect them from the Delta variant. On July 16, Indonesia was added to the sanctions list. On July 25, Malaysia and Thailand were added.The sanctions were to be lifted on Sunday, August 15. But it has been extended till August 31. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte approved the ban (August 16-31).
