Desk report: Transgender people in the UK are facing potential new bathroom laws which is being spear headed by Liz Truss, the government’s Minister for Women and Equalities, implying she would limit trans access to ‘single sex spaces’ Gay star news reports.
Trans women particularly are currently planning to leave the United Kingdom because the feel they are no longer safe or it is sensible for them to remain. Gay star news reported they spoke to a number of women who are making serious plans to flee the country. A trans community leader said people are ‘absolutely terrified’ and have no choice but to leave the country and seek asylum elsewhere.
Trans people have also asked employees to get their employers to ask the government to protect the ‘dignity and safety’ of trans people.
