Britain will seek a ban on the Taliban at the G-7 summit

Desk report: Leaders of the G-7 alliance will hold an emergency meeting on the Afghanistan issue on Tuesday. Britain will also chair the meeting. Other members of the alliance are the United States, Italy, France, Germany, Japan and Canada.British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made it clear that Britain does not want to accept the Taliban in power in Afghanistan. He also proposed multiple sanctions against the Taliban.Experts believe the G7 meeting could lead to further discussions on imposing sanctions on the Taliban. Britain has already called on G-7 leaders to consider imposing sanctions on the Taliban.Boris Johnson has appealed to the US administration that in the current situation in Afghanistan, it will not be possible to rescue everyone by August 31. That’s why the US forces should stay in Kabul for some more time.One thousand British troops are stationed at Kabul airport to carry out the rescue operation. If US troops are withdrawn, other NATO nations will be forced to do the same. In this situation G-7 is going to sit in the meeting.
